although i generally dislike the idea of using the term “rents”, as it makes me feel very childish and i have sudden angst for the person who coined the abbreviation, it properly represents my current childish mindset.
i blame my parents for not being rich or famous. there, i said it. i want things, things that the general public do not have access to unless they come from wealthy families or have a famous last name. but honestly, the only thing i really want right now is a private school education…one in particular. i want a usc peter stark education. its an mfa program for film/tv producing. http://cinema.usc.edu/programs/producing/
i applied for fall ‘10. i didn’t get accepted. there could have been one or ten reasons why i didn’t get accepted…but i can only tell you this much. i didn’t come from ivy league school (or the equivalent in hollywoodland: nyu, ucla or usc), and i don’t have a famous last name.
here is my the journey to whatever success comes my way. i can have what i want without a $120,000 education from usc. all it takes is one feature film or one tv show to move mountains. how will i begin? not sure. but i want to be able to look back to today, a day when the dream seemed so far away.
so, here tis. FUCK YOU USC, and happy independence day to me.
